Blooms at the Boutique is a full service retail florist serving the communities of Havre de Grace, Aberdeen and Perryville. As a division of Essex Florist & Greenhouses, we offer delivery to over 100 zip codes in Harford and Baltimore County. We offer daily delivery to all our local funeral homes, and have the ability to send your flower orders almost anywhere in the US and Canada. Like our parent company, Blooms at the Boutique does not pay commissions to out of state order gathering services such as Teleflora, FTD, or 1800 Flowers. These commissions and fees can be in excess of 20% to 30% of the cost of your arrangement. We do not think that is fair. When you buy flowers from us, you can be sure you are only paying for flowers.
We are not looking to be the biggest, rather we are striving to be the best.
We know bigger shops rely upon assembly line techniques, but we feel the sacrifice in quality is not worth the gain in production. Our designs are NOT assembly line creations. Rather, each design is created one at a time, allowing our designers to bring their individual creative imagination to every design they do.

In fact, every product you see on our website is a product designed a photographed by our staff. Our product lines include fresh flowers and gifts for any occasion, funeral designs as well as specialty tribute designs, party designs, and wedding designs. About our parent company, Essex Florist & Greenhouses, Inc. located at 341 S. Marlyn Avenue Essex, MD 21221
The original business owner was Howard Salvo, who in the 1940’s built some of the original greenhouses and established Salvo Nurseries, Inc. Mr. Salvo managed the business until 1980. During his tenure, he mainly grew house plants and offered a small selection of flower designs for the local community. In 1980, Mr. Salvo turned management over to the current owners, who created Essex Florist and Greenhouses as a division of Salvo Nurseries Inc, and transformed the business into a full service florist and specialized growing operation. Mr. Salvo, loved the growing business and remained interested in the operation until he passed away in 2002. Today, the business remains family owned and operated. For over 70 years our business has had the privilege of sharing the joys and sorrows of the people in our community.

Bridal Creations Wedding Florist is the division within Essex Florist that creates one-of-a-kind wedding designs. We believe every wedding, small or large is equally important; therefore, there is no minimum for your event. This division operates out of both the Essex and Havre e Grace shops. Cherished Memories Floral Preservation is dedicated to the preservation of wedding and sympathy flowers. We do not dry your flowers; rather, we preserve them one at a time and create unique keepsakes for our clients. This division operates out of both the Essex and Havre de Grace shops. Greenhouse Products
Havre de Grace now has access to all the beautiful plants grown in our greenhouses located in Essex, Maryland! We are not a mass merchandising operation. We do not buy our plants in from other growers to make a quick profit. We believe in quality. And that can only be achieved when professional growers care for the crop from beginning to end. We use premium cuttings to ensure only the finest plants. They stay in our greenhouse under our care until they are hand selected for each order and delivered to you. As a result, our seasonal crops feature spectacular blooms and are extremely healthy and long lasting.
For Christmas we grow a large poinsettia crop, and in the spring, we grow Easter Lilies, tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, and mums. These are sold to our retail florists to fill local orders and are sold to our local churches for altar displays.
If you want your garden to look great, start with the best plants. During the spring, we sell a large selection of annual bedding plants including new guinea impatiens, petunias, geraniums, dahlias, and marigolds. We also grow spectacular bedding baskets of hanging geraniums, new guinea impatiens, and petunias. For those who want something really spectacular, we offer mixed annual baskets, which make beautiful gifts for Easter and Mothers Day.
We work directly with local organizations providing plants for fund raising activities and with churches to create beautiful and inspiring altar displays. If you are a church or organization , please call the shop to get additional pricing information.
The Wedding Boutique of Maryland
The Wedding Boutique of Maryland is wedding and event planning company located at 322 St. John Street. During Covid, Essex Florist partnered with Marta Kastner of Affairs Extraordinaire by Marta, to create a one stop wedding shop. We work with an amazing team of vendors who are dedicated to making your wedding the event you have imagined you whole life. This business was opened in January 2021.
Blooms at the Boutique
In December, 2021 Essex Florist added a full service retail florist to The Wedding Boutique of Maryland. We fell in love with Havre de Grace selling our greenhouse plants outside of MacGregors Restaurant during the pandemic. We are excited to bring our product to the Havre de Grace community and look forward to serving you!
